  • About the Society:

SFEIM brings together all healthcare professionals working in the diagnosis and treatment of inherited metabolic disorders (IMD). This association was created on April 2,1992.

    Our main missions:

    – Train healthcare professionals (doctors, pharmacists, dieticians, biologists etc.)
    – Disseminating scientific and medical knowledge about MHM during scientific conferences
    – Participating in the organization of screening, diagnosis, and care for patients with MHM in close collaboration with the G2M healthcare network
    – Supporting research on MHM
    – Participating in international organizations focused on MHM: SSIEM, ERNDIM, etc.

Nearly 190 members – Mostly clinicians, but also lab scientists, researcher and metabolic dieticians.

Alongside the activities of SFEIM, two thematic subgroups have been formed:

    – SFEIM-A brings together doctors, biologists, and paramedics who treat adult patients.
    – The CETL brings together all those involved in the treatment of lysosomal diseases.

There are two sub-working groups, one for dietitians and one for psychologists.

    Dietitians Group
Dieticians are organized into a subgroup of the SFEIM. They organize two face-to-face days that are coupled with the SFEIM days.

    Adults Metabolic Physicians Group
SFEIM-A is part of the SFEIM group. This group focuses specifically on the management of adult patients. It is composed of clinical physicians from various specialties, biologists, and pharmacists. Its members meet twice a year — once in person and once by videoconference — and also take part in the SFEIM conference days.

    Additional Information
Creation of a SFEIM subgroup of psychologists. The group meet once a year via video/in person during the June congress.
