Membership information
Membership of the Society is open to all interested in and willing to support the aims of the Society.
SSIEM requires members and prospective members to process their annual subscription payments online.
ALL MEMBERSHIPS BEGIN ON 1st OF JANUARY EACH YEAR AND LAST FOR 1 YEAR.
Retired members – please note:
Retired members must have been a Standard or Subsidised member for 10 years.
SSIEM SYMPOSIUM DISCOUNT
To qualify for the SSIEM member rate for the 2026 Helsinki Symposium, taking place from 25 to 28 August 2026, participants must have paid both the previous year’s (2025) membership fee during 2025 and the current year’s (2026) membership fee at least three months before the start of the Symposium, by 26 May 2026.

- Researchers, scientists etc in a trainee position not yet registered with their professional body
- Dietitians, Nurses, Patient Group employees and other professions not included in the Standard category. This includes those employed by registered charities.
