About the Society:
In October 1995, the group was first formed in Korea as the "Korean research group of inherited metabolic disease". It was officially launched in May 2000 as the "Korean Society of Inherited Metabolic disease (KSIMD)". KSIMD was established to support the exchange of information and knowledge, joint research on inherited metabolic diseases (IMD), domestic and foreign cooperation, and academic publications. KSIMD publishes a regular journal, JOURNAL OF THE KOREAN SOCIETY OF INHERITED METABOLIC DISEASE (JKSIMD), twice a year and conducts active academic activities. KSIMD consists of about 340 members. KSIMD actively participates in ICEIM meetings on a regular basis.
KSIMD has maintained a close relationship with JSIMD (Japanese Society for Genetic Metabolic Diseases), with exchange speakers participating in regular academic meetings every year.
In addition, KSIMD is a major member of ASIMD (Asian Congress of Inherited Metabolic Disease) and conducts INTERNATIONAL BOARD MEMBER MEETING face-to-face every year, and is active in selecting ASIMD host countries, organizing programs, and providing financial support.
Dietitians Group
KSIMD has members of a nutritionist group majoring in IMD, and not only actively exchanges knowledge but also organically exchanges information through regular academic meetings.
The Societies Dietitians Group is a professional network of registered dietitians and nutrition professionals working within various academic, healthcare, research, and community organizations. Our group is dedicated to advancing the science and practice of nutrition through collaboration, education, and advocacy.
We aim to create a platform where dietitians can share evidence-based knowledge, support one another professionally, and contribute to the development of nutrition policies and initiatives for IMD. Our members are actively involved in promoting nutritional well-being across diverse populations and settings.Metabolic Physicians Group
KSIMD includes researchers who study Adult Inherited Metabolic Disease (AIMD) and studies the transition from childhood to adulthood with IMD and the treatment and systematic management of adult patients with IMD.
We are committed to improving patient outcomes through multidisciplinary collaboration, evidence-based practice, and continuous medical education. As part of a broader medical or academic society, our group serves as a platform for sharing clinical experience, discussing emerging research, and advocating for improved standards of care in adults with IMD.Additional Information
