  • National Societies:

Denmark has no separate national society for IEM.
A working-group for clinical genetics and neonatal screening is established as a subdivision of the Danish Paediatric Society. One aim of this working-group is to supervise the clinical services for inborn errors, including neonatal screening, as well as for other inherited rare disorders. It is the responsibility of the group to disseminate new knowledge about these disorders and take actions to implement new diagnostic methologies and treatment. The working-group functions as the formal link between clinical services and the National Health Authorities. A report is formed annually about the work in the group and every 3rd year a talk is given at the annual Danish Paediatric Society meeting. In addition ad hoc seminars in IEM may be held.

Chairman: Dr Allan M Lund, MD DMSc
