The North American Metabolic Academy (now called NAMA 1.0) provides a foundation forunderstanding the more classical inborn errors of metabolism, especially disorders ofintoxication and disorders of energy metabolism. NAMA 2.0 was launched in 2022 to focus ondisorders of complex molecules. This includes the congenital defects of glycosylation, lysosomalstorage diseases and non-mitochondrial (peroxisomal) fatty acid oxidation defects, but also looksto the frontier of metabolic medicine and the newer areas of metabolism: disorders of GAGsynthesis defects, phosphoglyceride and lipid droplet synthesis, phospholipid /sphingolipidsynthesis/remodeling, cellular trafficking, and others. The format is a mix of lectures andinteractive workshops.
This course will benefit those clinicians whose professional focus is clinical metabolism and neuro-metabolism. Post-graduate NAMA graduates are also welcome.
