SSIEM DG Academy 2021: Phenylketonuria

The course is primarily aimed at dietitians and nutritionists who are new to this area of dietetics and want to learn more about practical dietetic management and monitoring of PKU. Doctors with no dietitians in their team, who are providing dietetic management, can be considered for the application.


What are the learning objectives?

1.     To begin or be able to plan dietetic management for infants, children, adults and pregnant women with PKU.

2.     To understand and interpret blood phenylalanine and other biochemical markers in PKU.

3.     To know more about current or new dietetic and non-dietetic treatments in PKU.
